Greetings First of all, it is a great pleasure and honor to invite the 2024 Korea Craft Designer Association international exhibition at The Photo Artists Society of Korea-Washington DC Gallery. We, The Photo Artists Society of Korea, have supported Korean photographers in various work activities and events to pursue art in the U.S., and have also tried to become a bridge between the U.S. and Korea to understand two different cultures. In this exhibition, it was very interesting to feel the homogeneity between the creative pursuit and the flat work result in printing and displaying images of works in the exhibition methods of The Photo Artists Society of Korea and the Korea Craft Designer Association. Artisan of Academic and Practical Design, this craft exhibition showed the meaning of creative craft design in various ways in each artist’s own way. I think this could be a great opportunity for many people to look back on their great works as well as exchanges between artists. And I could see the importance of craft design. Through the craft works, I could feel related to all areas of life, and through this international exchange exhibition, I can find the direction and outlook of 21C craft design. I would like to deeply thank the motivated and great craft designers. Greetings 2024 Korea Craft Designer Association International Exhibition to be held at The Photo Artists Society of Korea-Washington DC Gallery in the U.S. I’m very happy to be here, and with this opportunity, the Washington DC community and U.S. craft designers can experience modern craft design and the cultural heritage of Korea. And above all, I would like to deeply thank David Heisoep Hwang, chairman of The Photo Artists Society of Korea, and the members for inviting our association to this exhibition and for the tremendous amount of help. This 2024 Korea Craft Designer Association International Exhibition is the result of academic and practical design exchanges between different countries. The importance and direction of 21C Craft Design will be formed by this international exchange. In addition, I hope that this exhibition will give us a chance to think about the global trend of 21C with great interest in designing and the convergence of many regions and cultures. Now we have to think about the meaning of modern craft design in pursuit of beauty and strive to create great works. We must realize that it is the duty of craft designers to create a better world. Thank you again to KCDA members, including all overseas craft designers, for holding such a successful exhibition, and I hope that the exhibition of high-quality craft works will serve as an opportunity for Korean contemporary craft to become more recognized. Aztenca creates leather goods, fabrics, and fashion items based on captivating pattern graphics that reconfigure trend-insensitive geometric shapes. Among the leather goods, we have visualized a money clip that showcases Aztenca’s unique pattern graphic design. His work is part of the permanent collections of the Art Museum of Bergen – KODE, the National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design in Oslo and the North Norwegian Art Museum in Tromsø.
